Tree planting ceremony at St Marys Church Theraputic Garden on April 22 The Mayor of Lewisham has planted a blossom tree to commemorate the almost 600 Lewisham residents who have lost their lives to Covid-19. The tree was planted in the Therapeutic Garden at St Mary’s Church last month as a “living memorial that anybody can visit to reflect on the lives of those who have passed and the long-lasting impact of the pandemic”. The Therapeutic Garden, funded by Lewisham Council, was first opened in 2017 as a joint project between St Mary’s Church and the Ladywell Unit at Lewisham Hospital to promote mental wellbeing through gardening.

Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill gets backing of civil rights organization

The New Order Human Rights Organization said it s standing behind Sheriff Hill. The group held a news conference Thursday to announce their support for Hill. They said they take all accusations of constitutional rights violations seriously.
But New Order officials add, their legal analysts looked at the federal indictment against Hill, and they don t believe hill violated anyone s rights.

SWANTON, Ohio Anika Fields, from Swanton says her neighbors have been racially harassing her since 2016. She showed our WTOL 11 team binders full of police reports, court documents and other complaints she s filed.
However, she says the Swanton Police Department hasn t been doing enough to keep her safe.
Now, a community leader is getting involved.
