Described as a coming-of-age drama that is “loosely based on real events from the actual Deltopia,” the film follows a group of high school students who travel to Santa Barbara after finishing their last day of high school to attend the unsanctioned party. County-Appointed IVCSD Director Bob Geis Retires

July 15, 2021 at 4:27 pm by Atmika Iyer Bob Geis, the county-appointed Isla Vista Community Services District director, resigned from his position effective July 14 to join his wife in retirement.  During the Isla Vista Community Services District’s (IVCSD) July 13 meeting, the board unanimously approved a resolution honoring Geis and his work. Geis’ involvement with the IVCSD dates back to 2017, prior to the IVCSD having a revenue source to fund their operations. Aside from his involvement with the CSD, Geis has been heavily involved in Isla Vista over his 40-year career. Geis was the former county auditor-controller and often worked with the Isla Vista Recreation and Park District.

UPDATE: Alabama Highway 77 open after crash, caution still urged Donna Thornton, The Gadsden Times © File ‎ UPDATE: Alabama Highway 77 is open to traffic again, but police continue to urge motorists to take it slow in the Snyder Road area. Southside police encourage motorists to avoid Alabama Highway 77 near Snyder Road  as they continue to investigate and clear up a two-vehicle crash, Chief Blake Ragsdale said. The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Capt. Jay Freeman said traffic was likely to be blocked on the roadway for some time. He said there were injuries in the crash, that someone from each vehicle was flown from the scene.
