This year, batting out of the No. 3 spot in the Lewiston softball team’s lineup, Landry didn’t strike out once.
In fact, the senior shortstop ended up leading the Blue Devils in every offensive category.
“I think that’s truly remarkable and proves how valuable she was to our offense,” Cormier said, adding that Landry is “one of the hardest players to get out up at the plate.”

Opposing pitchers got Landry out less than half the time. She batted .516 with an .823 slugging percentage and racked up 35 hits, 29 RBIs, 27 runs and 11 stolen bases. In the field, she had a .986 fielding percentage while flashing great range.

PARIS Chloe Estes’ two-out double in the bottom of the sixth scored Kiara McLeod and Miah Gallan to give Oxford Hills the go-ahead lead against Lewiston in the second game of a KVAC softball doubleheader Saturday in Paris.
The Vikings (4-0) won the game 9-5 after winning the opener 13-6.
McLeod and Gallan had two hits in the second game, as did Trinity Bernard and Kaity Montelongo. McLeod also pitched a complete game.
Gemma Landry hit a a two-run home run for Lewiston (2-2), which tied the game 5-5 in the top of the fifth inning. Brooklyn Mynahan pitched for the Blue Devils.

GRAY Andrea Smith scored eight goals for Gray-New Gloucester/Poland in the girls lacrosse program’s first varsity game, from which the 26ers came away with a 13-5 win over Fryeburg Academy on Tuesday.
Ellie Steele had two goals, three assists and gathered up 18 ground balls for Gray-New Gloucester/Poland (1-0), while Makenna Powell added two goals and Ashlehy Wilson also scored.
