Staley was arrested in October of 2020 on a first degree murder warrant for the Oct., 11, 2018 death of Jason Wilder McDaniel. Judge McKnight chose to recuse himself in the case because he previously represented the father of the victim, Bubba McDaniel, who will likely be a witness in this trial. ....

An Archer City man is accused of threatening to kill a Wichita County judge and bribing an assistant district attorney, according to allegations in court documents. Jeffrey Tyler Sweatt, 41, is suspected of threatening people in two counties and soliciting sex and money from an assistant prosecutor in return for her dropping charges against him, according to allegations in court documents.
