WACO, TX â The Heart of Texas Goodwill has received a $5 million donation from MacKenzie Scott.
Scott is a writer and philanthropist. She is also the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bazos.
This is the single largest private donation the organization has received in its 65-year history.
Heart of Texas Goodwill helps Central Texans access job readiness training and career development programs that include virtual job fairs, workshops, professional coaching and soft-skills training.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI – A generous philanthropist who has donated nearly $6 billion to nonprofits this year alone selected Goodwill Northern Michigan to receive $5 million.
Author and philanthropist Mackenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon CEO Jeff Bazos, is giving away money hand over fist. In the past four months, she donated $4.2 billion.
The gifts have “no strings attached,” she has said, meaning there are no requirements on how the recipients spend the money.
