AUBURN â To be a master at your craft it takes dedication, time and perseverance.
That perseverance, dedication and a lot of hard work goes into every 4-H project exhibited during the DeKalb County Free Fall Fair and the Summer Judging Open House.
Local 4-H members were awarded for all of their hard work so far this year during Thursday nightâs Summer Judging Open House and awards night at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds.
Along with the summer project awards, this yearâs Farm Bureau Tenure awards, Tops in 4-H and 4-H Master Achiever awards were handed out during the event.

A grant and donations allowed work to take place to properly restore about a 50-foot section of the bricks in the east wall at the Gen. Lew Wallace Study & Museum. Jefferson Awards: Cosart volunteers to help 4-H, fair succeed

Twelve area volunteers won local Jefferson Awards. Local sponsors include Husky Energy, Your Hometown Stations, The Lima News and United Way of Greater Lima. One winner, announced April 22 during a virtual event online, will represent the region in the national awards event.
HARROD It didn’t take long for Michaela Cosart to understand how important volunteerism was at the Allen County Fair.
“It was really cool to see what happens behind the scenes,” the Allen East senior said. “Without volunteers, it’s just not possible to manage something as large as the Allen County Fair.”
