Providence, Rhode Island’s Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (30-0, 18 KOs) made the fourth successful defense of his WBO middleweight title, winning a unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Liam Williams (23-3-1, 18 KOs) this weekend in Florida.
Andrade’s performance at times was spectacular, scoring highlight reel uppercuts throughout. In the later rounds, mainly in the ninth, he looked vulnerable and hurt from a right hand landed by Williams.
Overall, his performance was more than enough to earn a clear victory. However, was it enough to get the other champions in the division to step in the ring with him?

Middleweight contender Jaime Munguia was supposed to fight on April 24 against Maciej Sulecki, then it was April 23 against D’Mitrius Ballard.
But with Sulecki and Ballard both out, Golden Boy have now moved Munguia’s return to June 19, still at the same venue in El Paso, and if you purchased tickets for the April card, they will be honored on the new date.
Munguia (36-0, 29 KO) doesn’t have an official opponent set for June, but that “will be announced shortly,” Golden Boy promise. It’s entirely possible they revisit the idea for him to fight Sulecki (29-2, 11 KO), who withdrew due to injury but could be ready by in two months. Ballard (20-0-1, 13 KO) could still be on the table, too. Or it could be someone else, other names were considered for Munguia’s return, including Kanat Islam as the reported front-runner at one point.
