KARACHI: Issues of Korangi Industrial Area would be resolved on priority basis, Administrator Laeeq Ahmed said while speaking as the chief guest at an event hosted by Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), said a statement.
He said that plantation campaign was going to be started from February 15 and more than 70,000 saplings would be planted under the campaign.
President of KATI Saleem uz Zaman, chairman of standing committee Zubair Chaya, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Zahid Saeed, Masood Taqi, members of KATI and other industrialists were also present.
The administrator said two fire engines of KMC would remain in the area to deal with any eventuality.

First lady for maximum facilities for persons with disabilities

Samina Alvi, the wife of President Arif Alvi, has said the federal government wants to make the persons with disabilities independent by providing them training so that they can get jobs.
Talking to the office bearers of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) at the KATI office on Saturday, the first lady said the people with disabilities would be given a monthly stipend of Rs2,000 by the end of January under the Ehsaas Kifalat Programme of the federal government.
She said there were many facilities for people with disabilities in the world and lamented that some people considered children with disabilities as a burden. The disabilities in children were neither the fault of the parents nor the children but still people felt ashamed to tell about their children with disabilities, she remarked.

A new fibre optic cable has been laid in Gwadar which is good news for future investors, said Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Executive Vice President Abdul Zahir Achakzai.
He was speaking at a meeting with industrialists at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) on Thursday.
On the international front, the Gwadar city plays a pivotal role under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and by extension under the Silk Road initiative of China. At the local level, the port city is important for Balochistan as well as the rest of Pakistan.
