Foreign diplomats in Bangladesh start getting vaccinated
Diplomats of different foreign countries based in Dhaka started receiving Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday.
The Bangladesh government has arranged vaccinating the foreign diplomats.
Some 30 foreign diplomats and family members of some of the diplomats of India, European Union, Germany, Turkey, France, Italy, Australia and Vatican City got vaccinated on Wednesday.
Besides, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen received vaccine on the day.
Receiving the vaccine, Shahriar Alam said the Bangladesh government has started vaccinating the foreign diplomats. “Some diplomats will receive vaccine today (Wednesday) and more than 1,200 diplomats living in the country will be vaccinated in phases,” he said.
CDCS Director, French Ambassador visit Rohingya camps
Director of the Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS) Eric Chevallier has recently visited the Rohingya camps along with French Ambassador Jean-Marin Schuh.
They had the opportunity to meet with people from the Rohingya community and to share views with women, kids and doctors in the camps and possible opportunities for repatriation, said the Embassy of France in Dhaka on Monday.
They visited one of the Ideas Boxes managed by Bibliothèques sans Frontières and inaugurated a Community Resource Center managed by Médecins du Monde, both being funded by the CDCS.
Along with Runa Khan, they participated in the inauguration of the construction work for the new Friendship Hospital in Ukhiya, also funded by the CDCS.
