OU To Move Sunday Graduation Ceremonies Indoors Due To Weather Threat
Due to the threat of inclement weather, the University of Oklahoma announced Saturday that it will move Sunday s graduation ceremonies indoors.
The ceremonies will be moved inside the Lloyd Noble Center.
The university said the location change will affect the start times, as well.
The Gallogly College of Engineering will have its Master s Candidates and Bachelor s Candidates with a last name starting with A through Hi take the stage beginning at 8 a.m. Bachelor s Candidates with a last names starting with Ho through Z starts at 10:30 a.m.
The Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture, the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences and Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy will hold their ceremonies starting at 1 p.m.

The Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost announced the appointment of Stacy Reeder as dean of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, pending final approval from the OU Board of Regents.Â
According to a Friday morning email from interim Provost and Senior Vice President Jill Irvine, Reeder has served as a faculty member and administrator in the College of Education for the past 16 years. Sheâs served as the collegeâs interim dean since February 2020, after being named acting dean in September 2019.Â
Sheâs also previously served as the chair of the Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum, according to the email. She currently holds the position of professor in that department, teaching graduate and undergraduate mathematics education courses.
OU To Host In-Person Graduation Ceremonies In May
The University of Oklahoma announced Thursday that it will be holding graduation ceremonies this May in person.
In all, there will be six ceremonies to celebrate 2021 graduates, and the university announced that 2020 graduates can participate, too. In the face of the countless challenges of the last year, our students have displayed remarkable fortitude and compassion, perfectly emblematic of the OU spirit, said OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. Their resilience in the midst of a global pandemic is nothing short of extraordinary, and we are thrilled that we can offer our Classes of 2020 and 2021 a memorable graduation experience on campus that they most assuredly deserve.
