PPG Aerospace Resumes Beechcraft Windshield Rebuild Service

Huntsville, Alabama – PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) aerospace transparencies business has resumed its rebuilding service for Beechcraft 1900 and Beechcraft King Air windshields to provide operators with a lower-cost alternative to buying new spares without sacrificing performance or quality.
Rebuilt windshields provide operators with the best value, according to Jim Romano, PPG global sales director for commercial aftermarket transparencies. “Windshields are rebuilt to the same quality and performance standards as new parts but are less expensive, and we incorporate the latest design features at no additional cost,” Romano said.
Windshields are rebuilt at PPG’s Huntsville factory using the same materials and processes as for new parts, Romano said. As the manufacturer of original-equipment and spare windshields for Beechcraft 1900 and King Air airplanes, PPG is able to rebuild parts to the latest Ha

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. –– Nearly 60 years ago, 100 homes were destroyed, as three different fires simultaneously burned through multiple Staten Island neighborhoods.
On April 20, 1963, also known as Black Saturday, a total of three large brush fires began in Rossville, Tottenville, and Mariners Harbor. In their wake, the fires caused more than $2 million of property damage and left over 500 people homeless.

1960: From the Terrace was playing at the Fox Theater, which was in New Dorp, and starred Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, real life husband and wife. This was their third picture together and an adaption of the explosive John O Hara novel. Academy Award wining actor Paul Newman and his wife, Joanne Woodward, started out in an apartment in St. George. The two lived in the Ambassador Arms building.

American Flag on Black
The Venice-Nokomis Rotary presented checks totaling $10,500 to local, veteran organizations from their “Flags Across Venice-Nokomis” program to assist local Veterans and Service Families who are in need of financial aid.
For only $45, subscribers to the program will be provided with a beautiful, 3-foot by 5-foot American Flag placed in their yard on each of the five Patriotic Holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Veterans Day. The Venice-Nokomis Rotary also removes the flag after each holiday and safely stores it all year. The program has grown rapidly, to over 266 subscribers in 2020.
