If there is one thing certain about Captain Brian Morrison’s time in Venice, he’s a better cop and Venice is a better community because of his leadership.
Morrison recently finished a two-and-a-half-year run as patrol captain for the Pacific Division of the Los Angeles Police Department. He received a promotion that has him moving on and up through the ranks. Morrison has been assigned to the LAPD Emergency Service Division. His duties will include overseeing the Hazardous Devices and Materials Section (Bomb Squad and Haz Mat), LAX Bomb Detection K9 Unit and Emergency Management.

IN THE EARLY ‘70s, skateboarders were the renegades, the badasses of the sporting world, with their innovative moves, creative vernacular, and even their unusual practice spots. Mrs Ann Elizabeth Di Blasio (nee McMuldroch) passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, at the age of 75. Mom was the youngest of 5 siblings born in Thunder Bay married the love of her life Aldo in summer of 1965.
Mom and dad met while working together at Canada Safeway. Mom enjoyed the many trips to US and to one of many family camps in the Thunder Bay area including Silver Lake, Dog Lake and One Island Lake.
She also enjoyed the family home on Toledo street, where many bike rides and walks around Boulevard Lake continued until Aldo’s passing. They were blessed with two children who she was very proud of their accomplishments and who they have become today. Mom was always happy to see the grandchildren, enjoyed seeing them and found them entertaining.

Muslim Brotherhood spokesmen were almost baffled by the prosecutor’s move to issue arrest warrants for Mohammed Badie.
Mr Badie is the movement’s general or supreme guide, to whom every new member is required to pledge an oath of allegiance. So, his detention would enrage the thousands of Brotherhood supporters camped outside Cairo’s Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque, where they are vowing to remain until President Mohammed Morsi is released and reinstated.
Mr Badie and a handful of other Brotherhood leaders escaped arrest when the army deposed Mr Morsi a week ago. He has since addressed the crowd at the mosque and vowed not to give an inch until the democratically elected government is restored.
