TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Tallahassee Community College was recognized by the Florida Department of Education Chancellor of Florida Colleges Kathy Hebda and Chancellor of Career and Adult Education on Tuesday after ranking in the top 10 colleges in the nation and finalist for the prestigious Aspen Prize.
âIt is humbling to be identified by the Aspen Institute as one of the Top 10 colleges in the nation,â said Jim Murdaugh, TCC President. âI am extremely proud of our faculty and staff and the work we have done. But there is no finish line for what we are doing.â

At 90, Tallahassee Community College graduate fulfills goal to earn second degree
At 90, Kenneth Frisbie Jr. finally did it.
Frisbie was among the 3,000 Tallahassee Community College graduates of Spring 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 honored in a virtual ceremony.
“I’m excited to finish something that I started,” Frisbie told the Democrat Saturday morning. “That means something. When you start something, let’s finish. It also encourages people that have started an educational trip. No matter what their age, you can finish the job.”
The associate of science degree in Paralegal/Legal Studies is Frisbie’s second degree from TCC.
In 2002, at the age of 71, he started taking courses at TCC, earning his general associate of arts transfer degree in 2011, at 80.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - On Tuesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced $27 million in financial relief for those impacted by Hurricane Michael.
DeSantis is directing the Florida Division of Emergency Management to approve pending disaster recovery cost-share waivers for local governments that are eligible. According to the Governor’s Office, this is expected to give an estimated $22 million to these communities.
