In a press release, the bureau suggested the Tonghua Trail in Waipu District, Dongshih Forest Garden, and Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park. It said the tung trees on both sides of the Tunghua Trail, which follows the course of an irrigation ditch in Waipu, start to flower in April or May every year. The trail has good views, including a scenic lookout where people can watch Taiwan High Speed Rail trains whiz past.

The 2021 Taipei Rose Festival will showcase 5,000 rose plants of over 700 varieties at the Xinsheng Park area of the Taipei EXPO Park from March 12 to April 4, Taipei’s Parks and Street Lights Office (PSLO) said in a press release. The rich variety of roses will include old garden roses, tree roses, and hybrid tea roses, according to the PSLO.

Branches of flowering cherry blossom trees protrude from alley gardens, forming a canopy of the pink flowers, which attract a large number of tourists during the cherry blossom season each year.

The national park s Qixing Mountain, Mt. Datun, Mt. Miantian, Mt. Xiangtian, and Erziping received their first snow of the year on Friday (Jan. 8). Traffic control was enforced Friday to prevent traffic jams, and cars were required to have snow chains on their tires. The capital’s Department of Transportation ended snow-related controls at around 10 a.m. on Saturday, as no further snowfall or sleet had been observed around Yangmingshan, according to CNA. Police said roads in the area had been cleared of ice.

Taiwan has signed free trade agreements with its three Central American allies: Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. This means Taiwanese importers can bring food products from these countries into the nation at cheaper prices, which in turn leads to lower consumer prices.
