Please be advised that due to the impending winter storm, a snow emergency has been declared for the City of Pittsfield effective 7 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 26 through 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28. During this time, residents are asked to use off-street parking. If unable to park off-street, please follow the alternate side parking regulations:
Between 7 a.m. on Tuesday and 7 a.m. on Wednesday: vehicles may be parked on the even side of the street; • Between 7 a.m. on Wednesday and 7 a.m. on Thursday: vehicles may be parked on the odd side of the street; and • All existing and signed parking regulations remain active.
Black Ice and Heavy Fog Warning in Herkimer and the Mohawk Valley
Nothing spells danger quite like black ice and heavy freezing fog. The National Weather Service in Albany is warning motorists of both conditions developing this morning (12/22/20) from the Mohawk Valley to the capitol District.
The hazardous conditions will prevail through the morning commute until temperatures warm above freezing. Bridges and overpasses may be extremely slick.

Areas of dense fog will persist across portions of the Lake George Saratoga region, Mohawk Valley and greater Capital Region through 9 AM. Some visibilities may drop to or below one quarter of a mile, especially in the Lake George Saratoga region.
