Lucknow, May 7 : After the spread of Covid-19 in urban pockets, the infection is gathering pace across rural areas in western Uttar Pradesh with villages in Muzaffarnagar district being the worst-hit. However, the number of villages impacted is yet to be officially included in the data compiled by the state government.
After the recent UP panchayat elections, the situation in the villages has worsened resulting in a large number of deaths. Most of the people are suffering from high fever. People are also facing breathing problems in certain areas. Patients infected with the virus have not yet been tested in most rural areas. Their overall health condition would be known only after undergoing testing.

A 4-year-old girl s body was dumped in a septic tank in the under construction house owned by Dilshad and was recovered on March 6.

Police arrested two men in connection with the recent abduction and murder of a four-year-old girl in Jansath town of Uttar Pradesh s Muzaffarnagar on Friday, police said.
A probe in the case revealed that construction labourer Afzal and the house owner Dilshad are prime accused in the incident

A 4-year-old girl with strangulation marks on her body was found in an under-construction septic tank in Uttar Pradesh s Muzaffarnagar district, said the police.
The police found the body in at Jansath town, they added.
SHO D K Tyagi said the body has been sent for post-mortem.
