THE sister of a “well-known and loved” firefighter who took his own life says he struggled to get an appointment due to failings in the health system. Bryan Jenkins, a reserve with Ledbury Fire Brigade who had received an award for bravery while in service, took his own life in January after battling with bi-polar for decades. He was 59. His sister Angela Dudley-Warde said he had been “desperate” for a face-to-face appointment at Ledbury Health Partnership (LHP), the organisation that runs GP services in the town, but that he had failed to get one. “It is not going to bring him back and we cannot point the finger at any one individual but we can most definitely point the finger at the system and the GP practice,” she said.
