FEARS have been raised that a proposal to install two 300 metre zip wires from the cliffs at Whitby down to its pier could turn the popular resort into “Blackpool”. The two zip lines which would take thrillseekers down from the Whitby Pavilion car park to the lighthouse on the West Pier have been suggested by a company called Big Bang Promotions. Taking place on Tuesday, July 27, Norfolk Day is backed by the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich Evening News, and BBC Radio Norfolk and provides an opportunity to shout and cheer about this fantastic place where we live. People could also consider hosting an event over the weekend before.
