Until now, there has been nothing in Glendale to officially document or celebrate its past as a hotspot for anti-slavery activism in the 19th century. A local man is now leading an effort to memorialize the village s history as an Underground Railroad station.

Residents and historians have long looked at these homes with the suspicion that they were stations along the Underground Railroad.
