The leadership of the Patricia & Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric has told the Modell family they intend to remove the Modell name from the institution. We are shocked and disappointed by this development, John and Michel Modell said in a statement. The actions of the Lyric executives and board have deeply hurt our family and dishonor the memory and generosity of our parents.
John Modell is the Modells son, while Michel Modell is their daughter-in-law. She was married to David Modell. A former Ravens executive, David Modell died in 2017.
