Alaska Small Business Development Center Releases COVID-19 Impact Data on Small Businesses Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Small Business Development Center has released its preliminary COVID-19 impact survey results on small businesses spanning the state. The aim of the survey was to get a gauge on how COVID relief funding was deployed, and what gaps still need to be filled by remaining funding. Executive Director of the Alaska Small Business Development Center, Jon Bittner, was asked about the businesses that accessed Paycheck Protection Program funding and he said that program was the largest source of relief funding for businesses in Alaska and nationwide but not everyone went back for the second round because of businesses expereiencing a faster recovery, the eligibility was not the same, or that businesses did not need the funding.

Splitwise, a Providence, R.I.-based interpersonal finance app for sharing expenses with friends and family, raised $20M in Series A funding. The round was led by Insight Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Boris Treskunov, Principal at Insight Partners, will join the Splitwise Board of Directors. The company will use the funding to grow its team, accelerate global customer growth, and create new partnerships with fintech and financial services platforms. Led by Jon Bittner, CEO and Co-Founder, Splitwise provides an app which allows users to track balances and organize payments. It is used by group travelers, allowing them to effectively split costs accrued over a trip.

Interpersonal Finance App Splitwise Raises $20 Million Through Series A Funding Round Led By Insight Partners April 28, 2021 @ 10:42 am By Samantha Hurst Splitwise, a U.S.-based interpersonal finance app for sharing expenses, announced on Wednesday it raised $20 million through its Series A funding round, which was led by global venture capital and private equity firm, Insight Partners. The company previously raised a total of $10.2 million in funding from over five rounds, recently securing funds in July 2018. Founded in 2011, Splitwise stated it makes splitting bills with friends and family easy by organizing all shared expenses and IOUs in one place so that everyone may see who they owe.
