Lake Placid voters to elect new mayor, trustees tomorrow | News, Sports, Jobs

Art Devlin, left, and Jamie Rogers (Photos provided) LAKE PLACID Lake Placid voters will choose a new mayor and two village trustees on Tuesday. Polls at the North Elba Town Hall will be open between noon and 9 p.m. There are two candidates running for mayor and four candidates running for two trustee seats. All of the open positions carry four-year terms. Absentee ballots will be counted after the polls close. Village voters who filled out an absentee ballot, but decide on Election Day to vote in person, can do so but only the in-person vote will be counted. Running to succeed longtime Mayor Craig Randall, who is term-limited and cannot run for reelection, are current Trustee and Deputy Mayor Art Devlin on the Republican and Teamwork party lines, and former mayor Jamie Rogers on the Common Sense party line.

The candidates include incumbent Scott Monroe and newcomers Marc Galvin, Colin Hayes and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Kelly. All four are running on independent party lines: Monroe on the Common Sense party line, Galvin and Kelly on the Teamwork party line, and Hayes on the A New Vision party line.
