Re: Dec. 8 article, “Texas lawmakers want election challenge to go on.” There is plenty that divides this country, but I thought there was one thing that would always unite us: trust in, and acceptance of, our free and fair elections. On that issue there is, in fact, unity throughout the country extending from frontline election workers to local and state officials charged with supervising elections, both Democrats and Republicans  even to the U.S. Attorney General. This restores some faith that we will be alright. In the face of this unity, I was extremely disappointed that my retiring congressman, Bill Flores, and a number of his Texas colleagues have chosen to give credence to baseless claims that undermine the validity of the most recent election.
