After nearly a century in business, Malle Service & Tire will close its doors permanently on Friday.

After nearly a century at the corner of Quincy and Broadway, Malle Service & Tire will close its doors permanently on Friday.   “In June of 1924 my great-grandfather started Malle Service, I am the fourth generation,” owner Ed Malle wrote in a letter to his customers this week, which was addressed “Dear Friend.”  “It has been quite a run at this same location for 97 years and one month. My family has been a fixture in this town. The customer support has kept us here through good and bad times. I have seen generation after generation of families keeping our doors open, and that overwhelms me,” Malle wrote.

Ethan Myers, Minot, won the 4-H State Champion Masters Freestyle division of the State 4-H Indoor Archery Match. Myers had a score of 897 out of 900 points The State 4-H Indoor Archery Match looked a little different this year. Only the top 15 archers and teams from the 2021 archery season were invited to compete at state. In years past, any archer willing to shoot in the state tournament was welcome to attend. Ward County had 13 archers compete at the state match. The contest was held at Nishu Bowmen Club in Bismarck on April 17. Two scores from the regular season combined with their state match score determined their overall placing.
