POPULAR Zimdancehall chanter, Jah Master real name Rodney Mashandure has inked a deal with BancABC for its “City Hopper” ambassadorial role.
As part of the contract, the ‘Hello Mwari’ hit-maker received a brand new car to literally hop from city to city promoting the financial institution’s local remittance service.
Images circulating on social media platforms, show the musician in his signature shirtless and suspenders dressing signing a contract with BancABC managing director, Lance Mambondiani.

LOCAL online telecast, Nash TV has bowed to public pressure and relinquished all its copyrights over music it produced for artists after an ‘exploitative’ contract leaked drawing criticism from netizens.
In a leaked contract, artists were made to surrender all their rights over their music content to the collective Nash Group in exchange for promotions, video shoot, and interviews.
However, the contract valid from the date signed to infinity steered a backlash from many who felt the deal was exploitative to upcoming artists who are desperate for exposure and an income.
In a statement Sunday, Nash TV, which is an entertainment subsidiary the Nash Holdings, said in future it would publish its company financial statements to public scrutiny as proof that it had not benefited from the contracts.

LOCAL trailblazing musician, Poptain has said he is grateful for the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) acknowledgement of his craft after he dominated this year’s nominations.
The ZIMA 2021 edition nominations were announced last Thursday.
The annual ceremony sponsored by Premier Portland Cement (PPC) was postponed to 20 February due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A virtual ceremony will be held at the Newlands Country Club, Harare.
Poptain real name Ameen Jaleel Yaseen who is on a meteoric rise to stardom bagged five nominations.
His befitting recognition was shown by his nomination for Best Male, Song of the Year, Best ZimDancehall, and two of his tracks, ‘Fadza Mutengi’ featuring Allanah and ‘Kokai’ with Nutty O were nominated for Best Collaboration.
In previous years, such shows were much anticipated and participation by listeners would be “above the rim”.
Corporates would literally fall over each other to sponsor cash prizes and packages for winners, but things have changed.
Could this be owing to the effects of Covid-19 on companies’ productivity and income or the general realisation by the corporate world that the numbers of listeners have dwindled?
It’s just over a week after the shutdown chart show, but there has been deafening silence and virtually no reaction from music critics, listeners and all stakeholders in sharp contrast to debates that characterised the aftermath of these chart shows in years gone by.
