JAMMU Dr Shamim Wani, a senior Jammu and Kashmir government officer, has died of Covid-19 at Jammu. Dr Shamim Ahmed Wani, 54, a 1999 batch KAS officer, currently posted as Special Secretary Finance, died of Covid-19 at Jammu Medical College. He had given only two years out of the finance department when he was DC Kulgam. His death has shocked his colleagues who knew him as positive, soft-spoken and somebody who knew his job well, the public finance. A resident of Pandach in the Srinagar periphery, Shamim is survived by his wife, a dental surgeon, and a daughter who has just been enrolled for graduation. His sister; a widow, was also almost dependent on the officer.
