05/24/21 An Iowa City man is accused of going on a tirade after being placed under arrest for OWI. According to police, 29-year-old Jamaal Green of South Gilbert Street was called in as a reckless driver, and an officer observed him operating an Acura without plates at 2:50am Monday going over the speed limit on South Riverside Drive. Officers contacted Green after he pulled into the Kum & Go on South Riverside. He allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, and had the odor of ingested alcohol. The arrest report described Green as rude, belligerent, argumentative, emotional, and profane. Over the course of his alleged tirades, Green admitted to drinking prior to driving. As he was placed under arrest, he refused at least a dozen commands to place his hands behind his back to be cuffed. ....

(WECT) - Two more people have been charged in connection to the murder of a missing Bladen County woman whose body was found in Columbus County last week. Jamaal Omar Green, 33, of Lumberton, was arrested Wednesday on East Broad Street in Elizabethtown and charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and a probation violation. He is being held without bond. Amanda Lee Williamson, 41, of Cerro Gordo, was charged with accessory after the fact “for transporting [the suspects] to a place of safety and for giving them a place to store evidence,” the sheriff’s office said. She also faces two counts of failure to appear on a misdemeanor, and was given a $100,000 bond. ....
