Even after the impact of Brexit, Covid and US tariffs, the export value of Scotch Whisky was still £3.8bn last year. That s roughly 20 per cent of all UK food and drink exports.
But while Scotland remains the OG malt master, it is of course not the only place in the world that makes a mighty dram.
This year, despite the complications brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that many NYC bars and restaurants were still shuttered in April or were operating with reduced hours and staff, there still was a total of 1,400 entrants from 34 US states and 39 foreign countries judged.
