Date Time Coles to provide 100 recycled benches to schools to reward sustainability Coles is rewarding sustainability in the school yard by giving primary schools across Australia the chance to win one of 100 outdoor benches made from 98% recycled plastic. From today, primary schools can enter the Sustainability4Schools competition by simply explaining how they are committed to protecting the environment. The launch of the national competition comes as Coles celebrates its 10-year anniversary with REDcycle, which collects soft plastic at Coles supermarkets so it can be recycled into products such as the outdoor benches. Each bench will be made by Melbourne-based business Replas from approximately 8,250 pieces of plastic packaging. Replas has manufactured recycled benches for hundreds of primary schools for over 15 years. ....

The Low Carbon Freight Pathway report was launched at an event at Toll Tamaki, in South Auckland, attended by Transport Minister Hon Michael Wood and industry leaders from the transport, freight and business sectors. The Freight Group includes leaders from nine New Zealand companies committed to low carbon freight – Countdown, Fonterra, Lyttelton Port Company, New Zealand Post, Ports of Auckland, Swire Shipping, The Warehouse Group, TIL Logistics Group and Toll. ....
