Yeong-chan (
Seo Ji-hoo) who used to be a member of the Dragon Inn is a reporter who is digging into the corruption of a current incumbent lawmaker. One day, Yeong-chan asks Seung-jin (
Jang Eui-soo), the brain of the Dragon Inn, to recover a memory card that is connected to the case and the Dragon Inn is asked to find Yeong-eun, a high school girl who suddenly disappeared. Cheol-min (
Park Jeonghwa) who are working on the missing high school girl case, find out that with along the incident that Yeong-chan is digging into, the pseudo religious cult Ilwolgyo is involved.

So despite the clip from Dragon Inn Part 1: The City of Sadness suggesting that Dragon Inn Part 2: The Night of the Gods would take on darker more religious undertones, the villain actually just ends up being a pretty unremarkable cult. As in, they basically function like a real life cult, praying on people so lonely they re unwilling to question terrible group decisions. In practice Dragon Inn Part 2: The Night of the Gods is largely a procedural wherein the members of Dragon Inn attempt to track the cult down as part of their latest job.
