Deputies in Wayne County responded to a serious one-car crash that happened at the intersection of State Rt. 104 and Norris Rd. in Huron around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday. Maria Bank, 43, of Brooklyn was traveling east on Rt. 104 when she swerved off the road- and crashed into an embankment. A passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Three other passengers were transported to Upstate Medical with non-life threatening injuries.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a 78-year-old Geneva woman died at Strong Memorial Hospital after a crash in mid-December. It happened on December 15th around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Boyd and Glover roads in Sodus. Deputies say Mary Bonacci, 78, of Geneva died on January 4th at Strong Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. She had been airlifted to Strong by Mercy Flight. Deputies said there were no other injuries reported.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a Geneva driver was airlifted from the scene of a serious crash that happened during the afternoon hours on Tuesday. Deputies say Mary M. Bonacci, 78, of Geneva was traveling northbound on Boyd Road in Sodus when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the Glover Road intersection. As she proceeded through the intersection a United Parcel Service box truck being operated by Joshua Bardeen, 29, of Canandaigua was traveling east on Glover Road.
