On Earth Day, international chain Subway released “Vegang,” the world’s first “plant-based” grime song made to promote its vegan options. Created by vegan artist P Money and producers Star.One, the song’s beats are derived from vibrations emitted by plants Subway uses to create its vegan options. The artists used PlantWave technology to detect electrical variations from electrodes placed on plant leaves to create the track which is overlaid with lyrics that point to the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. “As more people champion plant-based lifestyles, we’re excited to be involved in the release of the first ever grime track made from plant sounds,” Angie Gosal, marketing director at Subway United Kingdom and Ireland, said. “With our ever-expanding vegan range, World Earth Day felt like the perfect opportunity to celebrate Subway now having one of the biggest and tastiest plant-based menus on the high street, to offer you even more choice.”

At Subway, it begins with bread. The only vegan option available across all locations is the Italian (white), though the chain carries other plant-based bread options that vary by region. These include Harvest, Hearty Italian, Roasted Garlic, Ciabatta, and Sourdough. Both the tomato basil and spinach wraps are animal-free as well.

Subway add new topping in all UK stores leaving customers divided. (Subway) Subway is offering Walkers crisps as a topping on your sandwich from today. Subway will be adding Walkers crisps to their selection of customisable toppings for their Subs, wraps or salads as guests will be asked if they would like ‘crisp in’ or ‘crisp out’ for their order. The sandwich chain will be making the change across all 1,700 UK stores and the crunchy topping will cost 20p extra. Inspired by the beloved national tradition of the classic ‘crisp sandwich’, Subway are partnering with Walkers to allow customers to add some extra crunch to their order – so they can now create their own ultimate ‘crisp Sub’.
