Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Power & Petroleum, Tabish Gauhar inaugurated Pakistan’s first digitally integrated oil storage and dispatch terminal at Pakistan State Oil’s Keamari Terminal-A (KTA) accompanied by Managing Director & CEO PSO – Syed Muhammad Taha.
Senior company officials and the project team were also present during the ceremony, said a spokesperson of PSO on Saturday. The launch of PSO’s digitally integrated model terminal is aligned with the Government’s vision of a Digital Pakistan.
This new milestone profoundly enhances the company’s strategic and operational capabilities while boosting efficiency and strengthening controls.
Walkout from KU syndicate meeting over professor’s appointment

Faculty members walked out of the University of Karachi’s (KU) syndicate meeting on Saturday over a controversy on the appointment of a professor.
The syndicate meeting, which was chaired by KU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Khalid Iraqi, also approved the termination of services of four teachers of the varsity, including Hafsa Nasar, Saba Masood, Asma Khan and Tasneem Akhter as they had been absent from the service for long. It was also decided that the varsity would make recovery from them within six months.
Heated arguments, however, were exchanged between syndicate members over the selection of Dr Saleha Rehman who had applied for the post of professor in the zoology department. Some of the syndicate members were of the view that the number of Dr Saleha’s publications appeared in the BASR and HEC journals was 12 till the last date of advertisement, and hence, she could not be hired as a

PSO Becomes the First OMC to Introduce Euro 5 Diesel Fuel in Pakistan
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) continues to lead the fuel revolution in Pakistan by becoming the first Oil Marketing Company (OMC) to upgrade Pakistan’s diesel fuel standard from Euro 2 to Euro 5, and has recently launched the Euro 5 standard high-speed diesel under the brand name ‘PSO Hi-Cetane Diesel Euro 5’.
The Government of Pakistan (GOP) mandated the import of Euro 5 standard compliant high-speed diesel from January 2021. As a proactive and forward-thinking company, PSO imported the first shipment of Euro 5 standard diesel on 23 December 2020, making PSO Hi-Cetane Diesel Euro 5 available at PSO retail outlets in Karachi well ahead of the timeline given by the GOP.
