Bill seeking 5-year term for tarnishing, removal or burning of Jinnah s photos introduced in Senate By 12 bills introduced in the Senate Bill proposes 5-year sentence for removal, tarnish or burning of Jinnah s photos Senate chairman forwards all bills to relevant committees ISLAMABAD: A bill proposing a five-year sentence for the removal, tarnishing or burning of photos of the Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah has been presented before the Senate.  It was put forward by PML-N s Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah during a Senate session being chaired by Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday. Apart from a five-year sentence, the bill also seeks to impose a fine worth Rs50,000 on the individual(s) who tarnish, remove or burn an image of the country s founding father.

PML-N introduces bill proposing 5-year term for those who tarnish, burn or remove Quaid-e-Azam s photos Pakistan An APP file photo of Senate.  ISLAMABAD: As many as 12 bills were introduced in the Senate on Monday including one seeking a five-year term for individuals who remove, tarnish or burn photos of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.  The bill, introduced by PML-N s Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah, also proposes imposition of  a fine worth Rs50,000 on the individual(s) who tarnish, remove or burn an image of the country s founding father. According to APP, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani referred all bills to the concerned standing committee for detailed deliberation.

Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Islamabad, January 21, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development in its meeting on Wednesday, discussed in detail an application addressed to Honourable Chairman Senate of Pakistan by Mr. Waseem Afzal Waraich, Ex-Director (BS-19) Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) against his removal from service. The matter was referred to the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. Chaired by Senator Hilal-ur-Rehman, the meeting was attended by Senator Najma Hameed, Senator Sardar Muhammad Khan Nasar, Senator Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah, Senator Molvi Faiz Muhammad, Senator Muhammad Khalid Bizenjo and senior officers from the Ministry for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) along with all concerned.
