Peter Cuong Franklin Chef-Founder Of Anan Saigon (#39 On Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, 2021)
Chef Peter Cuong Franklin, a Vietnamese-American Yale graduate, is the chef owner of Anan Saigon restaurant, Nhau Nhau cocktail bar & Pot Au Pho noodle bar, all located in Chợ Cũ, the oldest wet market in the center of bustling Saigon. He was an investment banker in New York, London and Hong Kong before following his passion to become a chef and restauranteur about ten years ago. Chef Peter ran two successful restaurants in Hong Kong before returning to Vietnam about five years ago to open Anan Saigon. The Harper Bazaar’s Chef of the Year also works with local charities such Saigon Children’s Charity, KOTO – Know One, Teach One and STREETS International, helping disadvantaged youths to gain a future in F&B. His restaurant Anan was recently voted No. 39 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 and Chef Peter was included in Tatler Asia’s Most Influential Tastemakers List 2021.

Vietnam denim manufacturer Saitex has launched a new social entrepreneurship project and production line for people from disadvantaged backgrounds or who are differently-abled.
The Rekut initiative is a new, holistic approach for the company, and will see associates receive training and support for sustainable jobs with equal, open opportunities and a stable income.
Understanding that in urban areas of Vietnam, people with different abilities and special needs are three times as likely to be unemployed, Saitex says it has invested in, and trained, 90 associates to date with the aim of increasing this to 1,000, or 20% of its workforce by 2025, to align with its inclusivity strategy.

BASF and partners launch fifth school in remote areas of Vietnam 18:19 | 09/01/2021
BASF, the worldâs leading chemical company, and other co-sponsors today inaugurated a joint school renovation project in a remote area of Hau Giang province.
The fifth school built by BASF and its customers as part of the long-term commitment to education in Vietnam
With a total area of 357 square metres, the project offers one new classroom, one toilet block, and one playground for Kim Dong Primary School at Hoa Long B site, located in Kinh Cung Township in Phung Hiep district. More than 90 students will enjoy new school facilities and an improved learning environment. Facilitated by Saigon Children s Charity, this project marks the fifth school jointly built by BASF Vietnam and its partners.
