1968: Creedence Clearwater Revival released their self-titled debut album.
1969: The Rolling Stones performed a free concert and their first with Mick Taylor at London’s Hyde Park. A crowd of 250,000 comes to show which also serves as tribute to Brian Jones, who died two days earlier.
1978: The EMI record pressing plant in Britain stopped printing the Rolling Stones album cover for “Some Girls” due to complaints from celebrities including Lucille Ball and Raquel Welch. The album was quickly re-issued with a redesigned cover that removed all the celebrities, whether they had complained or not.
2014: The four surviving members of The Grateful Dead gave what they said would be their final performance, playing to over 70,000 fans at Chicago’s Soldier Field.
