In the spirit of âPay It Forward Day,â Gila River Cares â the philanthropic arm of Gila River Hotels & Casinos-Wild Horse Pass, Lone Butte and Vee Quiva â and the Arizona Coyotes Foundation joined forces to present a $50,000 check to Human Services Campus Inc.
Human Services Campus Inc. is a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness. TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - April 26, 2021 – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) today announced that it is granting $565,000 to seven community organizations throughout the state that provide programs and services to address substance use disorders. Grants are being awarded to these organizations for programming that addresses substance use disorders with at least one of three complicating factors: COVID-19, social determinants of health, and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.

PHOENIX, April 26, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona s (BCBSAZ) Mobilize AZ initiative announces grant awards to seven Arizona community organizations providing programs and services focused on substance use disorder. Grants are awarded for projects address substance use disorder and at least one of three complicating factors: COVID-19, social determinants of health, and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.
Between 2017 and 2021, Arizona has seen an estimated 65,982 opioid overdoses resulting in 9,053 deaths. In an effort to help reduce these numbers, BCBSAZ s Mobilize AZ is committed to investing in local organizations that build and deliver prevention programs and offer treatment and recovery services for substance use disorder and mental health conditions.
