NBC on Friday unveiled a dramatic fall lineup that for the first time in memory includes zero comedies.
Instead, the network plans a record six dramas from producer Dick Wolf, who will control the entire prime-time lineup on two consecutive nights with returning Chicago and Law & Order series and a third L&O entry, For the Defense, which focuses on a defense law firm.
The two other new dramas are Ordinary Joe, starring James Wolk ( Mad Men ) as a college graduate who faces three life paths, each depicted in the new drama that will follow The Voice on Mondays; and La Brea, a thriller about survivors of a giant sinkhole that envelops Los Angeles.

You probably don t think Emmy-winning actress Julianna Margulies and Grammy-winning singer Adele sound anything alike. But then you haven t heard Margulies speak in a British accent (unless you ve seen The Mists of Avalon ). To hear me talk like that was just hilarious, Margulies says in said accent, eeirly reminiscent of Adele. The Good Wife and ER star grew up in England, France and the U.S., gifting her with an array of life experience (and accent practice). I try very hard to own the accent I have now because all my life I was switching back and forth, she says.

Who s ahead in Save Our Shows, and which network sitcoms and dramas are desperately in need of a lifeline?
A glimpse at early results in USA TODAY s exclusive 24th annual poll reveals that ABC s The Rookie, starring Nathan Fillion as the LAPD s oldest recruit, tops the list of 25 endangered shows with the most support: More than half of voters want it back for a fourth season, while fewer than 10% voted to drop it from the lineup. (The rest didn t care either way.)
Behind The Rookie are NBC s newest spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime, which premiered early this month, and musical dramedy Zoey s Extraordinary Playlist. Zoey s won last year s Save Our Shows poll with a record 67% of respondents voting to keep it for a second season. Their wish came true, but the level of support is far less this time around.
