CHESHIRE â Access to everyday groceries has become one of the biggest issues for many families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Cheshire Food Pantry has been at the forefront of assisting residents with getting adequate groceries and other necessities. A group of Dodd Middle School students identified a need for feminine hygiene products and went to work raising funds and collecting donations for the pantry.Â

The shelves at the Cheshire Food Pantry have remained stocked in large part due to the generous donation from individuals and companies from around Cheshire and the surrounding area, including Cox Communications, which has donated approximately $50,000 during the course of the pandemic.

CHESHIRE â Cox Communications has reached out to help the townâs food pantry.
Throughout the course of the pandemic, the James M. Cox foundation has donated $50,000 to the Cheshire Food Pantry.
The pandemic has exacerbated hardships for many residents, and the stress of fighting the deadly COVID-19 virus and surviving the economic downturn it caused has forced many families to turn to the Food Pantry for groceries and other essentials.Â

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home) Norma Lamb Thompson of Wallingford passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at age 100.
She was the devoted wife of the late John Boyd Thompson. Norma was born in New Haven on May 25, 1920, daughter of the late William and Mary Ann Kelly Lamb.
She is the beloved mother of Maryann Dolan and her husband, John, of Wallingford; and also leaves her precious grandson, Kevin Dolan and his wife, Julienne; and her two great-grandchildren, Megan and Cullen Dolan of Avon, who she adored; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Norma was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Sheryl Lee Thompson and 13 siblings.
