Snapshots still the moment before time steals it and it is lost to posterity. These photographs preserve moments that can become memories that serve history.
Snapshots can also capture the character and personality of a person and, when caught early in life, offer insight into the person they will become.
In the early 1940s, Eugene Coleman Sr. was serving in the Army Air Corps when he refused permanent kitchen duty in an all-white squadron.
