LOWVILLE â That recreation and tourism can bring significant revenue to a host area is not new information. That local and visiting snowmobilers laid down an estimated $101.1 million annually in direct spending in the Tug Hill region is.
The new information is an analysis of data collected in a survey of snowmobilers conducted by Jefferson Community College Center for Community Studies in the first quarter of the year.
The resulting report released this month offers tough to arrive upon estimates like the number of people who come to Tug Hill specifically for snowmobiling and the economic and tax impact the industry has on the four Tug Hill counties â Lewis, Jefferson, Oswego and Oneida.
OSWEGO COUNTY - SUNY Oswegoâs Business Resource Center will host a small business training class for those interested in expanding or starting a small business in Oswego County. Classes will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 14 through Friday, June 18 and from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 21 through Tuesday, June 22 online through SUNY Oswegoâs Business Resource Center.
This certificate program provides training that covers such topics as how to write a business plan, how to obtain financing, accounting and tax issues, business insurance, legalities, marketing, and other basic business start-up issues. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for up to $25,000 in low-interest financing to expand or start their business in Oswego County.
