FIRST COVID DEATH IN 10 DAYS, GUIDANCE ISSUED ON QUARANTINE CONSIDERING VACCINATION

The first death associated with COVID-19 since February 8th was reported Thursday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health in their daily report.  The latest victim is among 64 others age 80 or older who have succumbed to the disease.  Of the 126 in all, twenty-seven were in their 70s, twenty-two were in their 60s, five were in their 50s, four were in their 40s, two were in their 30s, and one was between 10 and 19 years old. Only 18 of 692 tests accounted for since Wednesday were positive for COVID-19, comprising a modest 2.6% of all returns.  23 persons recovered, dropping the active case count to 173, the lowest since 135 were reported on September 25th of 2020.  Hospitalizations were down by one, to 5 in Sheboygan County.

COUNTY COVID DEATH TOLL TOPS 100, CASE TOTAL OVER 12K

By Kevin Zimmermann   SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – With the deaths of another eight county residents attributed to COVID-19 in Thursday’s report, the Sheboygan County death toll from COVID-19 leaped above 100 to a total of 106.  Of those, four were in their 60s, two were in their 70s, and two were 80 or older. The daily report from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health indicated 50 of 186 test returns received since Wednesday were positive for COVID-19, raising the running total to 12,019, and putting the positive test rate at 26.8%.  The 46 recoveries weren’t entirely responsible for the drop of 4 in the active case roster, as deaths also affected a total that now rests at 765.  9 persons remain hospitalized in Sheboygan County for treatment of their symptoms.
