Optimism gleamed from New Mexico health officials Wednesday as the state continued to lead the nation in COVID-19 vaccines.
State Health Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins said New Mexico remained first in the nation for speedy vaccination of residents.
“New Mexico is No. 1 for getting shots in arms,” she said during a Wednesday news conference.
She said all New Mexicans 16 and older are eligible for vaccinations.
“One hundred percent of in-state Phase 1 registrants have received an invitation to a vaccine appointment,” she said.
“(New Mexico Department of Health) has been prioritizing invitations to early-phase vaccine registrants, and we will continue to reach out via text, email, phone calls and other methods until everyone who wants a vaccine has received it.
