Updated: 4:34 PM EST Feb 22, 2021 A reward has been increased to $5,000 for information into the deadly shooting of two horses on a farm near the Baltimore County line in September.Chantilly Tilly Lace and Hey Kid were shot at their farm in the 4100 block of Old York Road in Monkton. One of the animals was a retired racehorse and the other was a show pony.The horses were discovered around 6 a.m. on Sept. 25 by a woman who fed them. Deputies believe the horses were shot in the pasture between 11:20 p.m. and midnight on Sept. 24.According to investigators, the show pony may have died immediately. But the wounded retired racehorse saw its owner, attempted to get up and later died.Investigators believe the shooting is a targeted act. It s not random. We believe it is someone close to the farm, Harford County sheriff s Maj. John Simpson said in September.Investigators are canvassing the area for witnesses and to secure surveillance video.
