Senator Linda Stewart to Visit Manatee Rescue Center at SeaWorld
Orlando – To highlight the ongoing, tragic deaths of a record number of Manatees in Florida, Senator Linda Stewart (D-Orlando) Vice Chair of the Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee, will be touring SeaWorld’s Manatee Rescue Center on Wednesday, July 28 at 10:00 am. This will be the first stop by Senator Stewart in her ongoing advocacy to promote changes that improve water quality, restore habitats, and protect Florida’s natural resources and wildlife.
“The recent die-off of manatees is another alarming result of our state’s rapid decline in water quality. We have been experiencing ongoing blue-green algae blooms and red tide, suffocating our sea life and diminishing their habitats. The legislature must continue to take action on these issues directly by addressing the sources causing this destruction

SB 90, approved by the Republican-led House and Senate last week, follows voting reform laws adopted by a handful of other Republican-led states, including neighboring Georgia, which passed a widely denounced election law in March.
