The final countdown to the APC Congresses is on. The commentaries, reports and opinions circulating in the media especially on who will become the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman will hasten the polarization or coalition of political forces and the composition of the teams for the party’s two highest political and government positions respectively.
The initial surveys on the race of who occupies the office of the National Chairman have shown how former governors, senators and party chieftains are scheming and pushing for support to actualise their ambitions.

AS the All Progressives Congress (APC) congress draws near, political patronage is central to what ails the political party administration viz-a-viz system of governance.
We must not continue depicting Nigeria as a soft state and a weak nation, where it is unable to apply the law equally to all its citizens. It is no longer news that our political parties and institutions are captives of the oligarchy and serve mostly their interest and that of the few rich allies and powerful politicians.
Our leaders failed to unite and inspire our diverse peoples as a nation. These are symptoms of political patronage, peripherals feeding on themselves, defining us after many decades of this practice.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recently announced the postponement of the date of its congresses initially scheduled for July 24, August 14 and September 18 respectively for the election of party executives from the ward to the state levels, with the ward congress now holding on July 31th which will ultimately culminate in its much awaited national convention where the national officers of the party who will direct its day to day affairs would be elected.
