ESSEX JCT., Vt. – Joan Charlotte Johnson Allen Murphy of Essex Jct., Vt., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 22, 2021. She passed away only three short months after her husband, Joseph Murphy. They would have been married 50 years on February 12th.Joan was born on Jan. 14, 1937, to James G. Johnson and Charlotte B. Fairbanks in Portland, Maine. She was the eldest of five siblings.Joan graduated from Portland High School in 1956 where she was extremely active and very well liked. She was a cheerleader for four years and head cheerleader her senior year. She was also captain of the swim team, and a member of the softball and volleyball teams. She had the lead role in her senior class play “Professor, How Could You?” She received a full scholarship from
HopewellLynn Jo (Dodson) Moore, 63, of Sandy Run Road, Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1957, in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Clair and Mary (Mellott) Dodson.
On August 23, 1980, she was united in marriage to her husband, Steve Moore, at the Shermanâs Valley Brethren in Christ Church. They had just celebrated their 40th anniversary.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Steve at home; a son, Dustin Moore and companion Stephanie Milazzo of Six Mile Run; a daughter, Lacy (Moore) Mathes, married to Justin Mathes, of Six Mile Run; sister, Gail Steele, of Saxton; and a brother, Dan Dodson, of Hopewell; aunt, Judy Cogan, and aunt, Elaine Dodson, both of Hopewell. Also surviving are her grandchildren Shilah, Keegan, Azlynn, Ethan and Eli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew all who adored her.
