The spokeswoman for the U.K.’s COP26 presidency landed herself in hot water with some environmental campaigners and journalists this week after suggesting people could do their bit for climate change by not rinsing plates before they go in the dishwasher.
Allegra Stratton, who had a brief stint as Boris Johnson s spokesperson before joining the COP team in April, wrote in the Telegraph about a number of small changes consumers should consider in the run-up to November’s climate summit, including buying soap in cardboard packets rather than shower gel, and freezing leftover bread rather than letting it go moldy.
