US-owned resource company goes for green light to frack Australia's north-west

Bennett Resources, owned by Texan company Black Mountain, wants its Valhalla gas prospect in the Kimberley to eventually supply the export market, or the energy-hungry east coast market, potentially via the $5 billion east-west pipeline long-mooted yet still unsupported by governments. Environs Kimberley says it has organised more than 3000 public submissions opposing the project in the 7-day comments period that closed on Wednesday.
