L artista and The Florist Watford were among businesses thrilled to be able to welcome customers back inside. Watford pubs and businesses have voiced their delight at finally being able to host people inside after lockdown restrictions eased. Today s step saw indoor dining and leisure return for the first time this year - with local shoppers wasting no time diving into the town s eateries. Among those overjoyed to fully welcome back customers was Franco Malanga, manager at L artista in High Street. He told the Observer: We are so excited to have people back inside the restaurant. We have seen people so happy to come and enjoy the food inside.

Pam Robertson and Gary O Brian have pitched in at the community s greatest time of need. A group of volunteers who arranged food boxes and wellbeing calls throughout the pandemic, a woman who cooked meals for the underprivileged and a sea scout group who distributed face masks, have shown why they are community champions. We asked readers to get in touch and tell us about those people or businesses who have gone the extra mile during the Covid-19 crisis. One such person, Watford resident Pam Robertson, has been cooking non-stop for One Vision – a network of Watford-based voluntary organisations .
